Job Overview:
The VP of Marketplace will be responsible for leading and overseeing the agency's marketplace operations, driving client success on online marketplaces. This strategic leadership role requires a deep understanding of marketplace dynamics, strong business acumen, and a proven track record in achieving client growth and profitability on marketplaces. Driving client relationships will be important in this role - so someone with technical expertise on marketplace + good client management skills is mandatory.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute our marketplace strategy, driving revenue growth and market share expansion for clients on online marketplaces.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the marketplace team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client goals.
- Own and execute performance marketing, understanding the execution for Meta campaigns.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key marketplace partners, including Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit and others, to leverage opportunities and stay updated on platform developments.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their marketplace goals and develop tailored strategies to optimize their presence, product listings, and overall performance on marketplaces.
- Report, recommend and iterate on campaigns to drive increased ROI.
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing and advertising strategies to drive customer acquisition, conversion, and sales on marketplaces.
- Analyze marketplace data, metrics, and insights to identify opportunities for growth, optimization, and improvement for clients' marketplace performance.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketplace operations, providing regular performance updates to clients and senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including advertising, content, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and coordination of marketplace strategies and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years of experience in marketplace leadership roles, preferably within a digital marketing agency or e-commerce environment.
- Deep understanding of online marketplaces including platform dynamics, algorithms, advertising options, and best practices.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and achieve client objectives on marketplaces.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing marketplace teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and optimization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships, understand client needs, and deliver exceptional results.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Facebook ads, performance and affiliate marketing.
